Legal
These terms explain what WemaHub does for your group, what we ask of you, and what happens when something goes wrong. We have written them in plain language on purpose.

Section 1
WemaHub is software made by WemaHub Limited, a company registered in Kenya. It helps welfare groups, chamas, saccos and similar groups keep a member register, collect contributions, and pay out to beneficiaries.
By opening a group on WemaHub, or by using it as a member of a group, you agree to these terms. If your group's officials sign up on behalf of the group, they confirm they have the group's permission to do so.
Section 2
Only officials of a group can add members. Each person gets their own sign-in details. You must keep your password and any verification codes to yourself.
Tell us immediately if you think someone else has got into your account. Until you do, actions taken with your sign-in are treated as yours.
Do not share one sign-in between several people.
Officials must remove a person's access when they leave office.
Members must be real people who agreed to join your group.
Section 3
WemaHub is not a bank and is not a money transfer business. We do not hold, keep or invest your group's money. Contributions move from a member to your group's own M-Pesa or bank account, and payouts move from that account to the person your officials choose.
Money movement is carried out by Safaricom's M-Pesa services and your own bank. Their terms, limits and charges apply on top of ours, and we do not control their timing or availability.
Your officials are responsible for deciding who receives money and how much. WemaHub records those decisions; it does not make them.
Section 4
We work hard to keep your records correct, and every change is written to an audit log. Still, the figures in WemaHub depend on what your officials enter and what our payment partners report to us.
Check your records regularly. If you find something wrong, tell us within 30 days so we can look at the logs and put it right.
Section 5
Small groups use the free plan. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance, in Kenya shillings, by M-Pesa request to the treasurer's number.
We may change our prices, but we will tell your group at least 30 days before a new price applies. You can cancel before it starts.
If a monthly payment is not made, the group moves to the free plan. Your records are not deleted for non-payment; features simply reduce.
Section 6
Use WemaHub for genuine group welfare and savings activity, and nothing else.
No money laundering, fraud, pyramid or ponzi arrangements.
No collecting money using a case or beneficiary that does not exist.
No adding people to a register without their knowledge.
No trying to break, copy, resell or reverse engineer the service.
Section 7
We aim to keep WemaHub running all day, every day, and we tell you in advance about planned maintenance. Sometimes networks, M-Pesa, or our own systems fail. When that happens we fix it as fast as we can, but we cannot promise the service is never interrupted.
Section 8
If we cause you loss because we broke these terms, we will make it right up to the total amount your group paid us in the twelve months before the problem happened. For groups on the free plan, that amount is nothing, but we will still fix the problem.
We are not responsible for a group's own decisions about money, for contributions a member fails to pay, or for delays caused by M-Pesa, banks or mobile networks.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Kenyan consumer law.
Section 9
Your group's records belong to your group. You can export them at any time as Excel, CSV or PDF. How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Section 10
You can stop using WemaHub at any time. Ask us and we will close the group and delete its records, keeping only what the law requires us to keep.
We may suspend or close a group that breaks these terms, especially where money is being collected dishonestly. Where we can, we give notice and a chance to explain first.
Section 11
We may update these terms as the service grows. If a change matters to you, we will tell your officials by email and in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use WemaHub after that means you accept the new terms.
Section 12
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. If we disagree about something, let us first try to sort it out by talking, within 30 days. If that fails, the courts of Kenya will decide.
Email hi@wemahub.com or call 0748 637 080 and we will explain any part of this in your own language.
